HLAM Gallery

The first of its kind in Voronezh, the HLAM contemporary art gallery was established in 2007 by Alexey Gorbunov. The gallery is focused on further development of contemporary art in Russia. By September 2017 the gallery had held 101 exhibitions. Some of them were nominated and the artists became winners of major Russian contemporary art awards including the Kandinsky Prize (2011, 2013) and the Innovation award (2010, 2012). Artists who began their careers at HLAM or whose works have been regularly exhibited in the gallery (I. Gorshkov, A. Kurbatova, I. Dolgov, N. Alexeev, E. Astapchenko, and K. Garshin) are widely sought after in Russia as well as internationally. The gallery keeps on supporting and presenting young contemporary artists. HLAM’s activity inspired the annual international Platonov Festival (working since 2011). In February 2009 the Voronezh Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA) was established on the grounds of HLAM. The gallery has developed 10 different projects for a city public-art program. Three of them were conducted in 2011-15 in Voronezh. Since 2012 HLAM has participated in numerous international contemporary art exhibitions, and lately has received an Artistic Form Innovation diploma. Artists showcased at Cosmoscow 2017: Nikolay Alexeev, Kirill Savelyev.
