Regina Gallery, one of the first private galleries of contemporary art in Moscow, was founded in 1990 by Vladimir Ovcharenko. From the mid 90’s, Regina Gallery became a regular participant of international fairs, including Art Basel and Frieze. The gallery has gained prestige on the domestic and international art scene for a very short period of time.
Among the worldwide known Russian artists are Victor Alimpiev, Sergey Bratkov, Sergey Zarva, Pavel Pepperstein, Ivan Chuikov, Semyon Faibisovich.
From 1994 Regina Gallery invites for cooperation international curators and artists, who are stars indeed. The gallery exhibitions have been curated by the American curator Dan Cameron, and Yara Bubnova from Bulgaria. Claire Fontaine, Jonathan Meese, Jack Pierson, Daniel Richter were presented with personal projects.
Regina Gallery constantly exhibits works at large international projects and biennale. The works by the gallery resident artists are in the collections of the leading museums of the world, including MOMA, New York; Tate Modern, London; Centre Pompidou, Paris.
