Gallery 9B

Gallery 9B is a contemporary art gallery based in Nizhny Novgorod, the first institutional art residency in the city. It was founded in 2018 by art collectors Georgy Smirnov and Elena Talyanskaya. The gallery presents its own projects, holds exhibitions in partnership with other galleries, and shows the work of art residencies. Its artists hold special public events, develop their own projects, and become acquainted with the culture, history, and art of Nizhny Novgorod and the region. The Gallery is an art platform for communications, cooperation, and experiments. Its mission is to support young artists through the art-residency program, education, events, and exhibition activities. The Gallery also offers its space to the projects and events of galleries and artists from other cities so that art lovers in Nizhny Novgorod can learn about the tendencies of Russian contemporary art.
