XL Gallery opened in 1993. Founders – Elena Selina (curator) and Sergey Khripun (director). Since opening the gallery made more than 300 exhibitions. XL Gallery works primarily with Russian artists – from classics of Moscow contemporary art (Viktor Pivovarov, Andrey Monastyrsky, Igor Makarevich, Boris Orlov) to young stars (Irina Korina, Blue Soup group, Alexander Povzner, Ilya Dolgov, ZIP group). The gallery focuses on installation, video, sculpture and multimedia projects.
