There was a time when an accepted issue in respectable houses was to collect art. At first it was collected mainly by well-to-do people but later, when the slogan Art belongs to the people! was proclaimed in the USSR and many things became more affordable, art collecting acquired an almost mass character. Nevertheless, there always was an inherent element of selectivity. Painting and graphic works were collected by academics and college professors, surgeons and physicists, actors and managers of large shops. Some loved only classics, others, to the contrary, were fond of the modern art trends and welcomed Russian avant-garde and Soviet nonconformists.
Bringing culture to the masses, we are prepared to give a chance to today’s collector, both expert and new ones, to become the owner of real treasures from a professor’s flat. Oils and water colours, pastels and engravings — hundreds of works by both well-known and unknown artists will be presented FROM A PROFESSOR’S FLAT.
Artists presented at Cosmoscow 2022: Vladimir Viderman, Boris Ermolaev, Evgeny Mikhnov-Voytenko, Tatiana Nega, Alexander Nosov.
