The pop/off/art gallery Moscow-Berlin was established in 2004 by Sergey Popov, an art historian, curator and leading contemporary art expert. The pop/off/art gallery is one of the leading members of the Moscow art scene when it comes to exhibiting contemporary Russian art, although the gallery’s sphere of interest also includes contemporary art on an international level.
In 2012 the pop/off/art gallery became the first gallery in Russia to open an af liate in continental Europe, in Berlin.
Among the artists represented by the gallery are some of the most well-known names in contemporary Russian art from acknowledged masters (Eric Bulatov, Andrey Grositsky, Arkady Petrov, Nikolai Kasatkin) to key gures of recent decades (Anatoly Osmolovsky, Olga Chernysheva, Vitaly Pushnitsky, Kirill Chelushkin); from rising stars to newly discovered masters. They include recipients of national awards and participants of some of the most prestigious international art forums, auctions sales and ratings leaders. The gallery represents a range of art forms, including photography and new media, but its central focus is on painting, sculpture and installation as they are perceived today.
