KGallery

KGallery was established in St. Petersburg in 2005. Originating in the mid-1980s of the 20th century, the largest private collection of Russian and Soviet art forms the foundation of the gallery’s collection. Masterpieces of Russian art from the 19th and 20th centuries can be found in the gallery’s collection, including pieces by the Peredvizhniki, Silver Age and avant-garde artists, numerous canvases by the greatest Soviet masters and representatives of the underground art scene, as well as unique Soviet porcelain pieces of 1920’s – 1930’s.

KGallery’s primary function is the organization of exhibitions. Exhibitions of prominent artists such as Boris Grigoriev, Boris Kustodiev, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Kazimir Malevich, Konstantin Somov and Nathan Altman have been staged with significant success throughout the gallery’s existence. Artistic groups of the twentieth century, such as the Arefiev circle and the Eleven group, were given their own exhibition cycles. Furthermore, the gallery hosts programs that honor significant Russian cultural phenomena from the late 20th and early 21st centuries, such as exhibitions of works by Vladislav Mamyshev-Monro, Georgy Guryanov, and Sergei Borisov; projects “Melancholia. In Memory of Arkady Ippolitov” and “Random Print Run”. Since its founding, KGallery has actively collaborated with governmental museums as well as private collectors. Collection pieces from the gallery are regularly included in Russian museum exhibitions.
