Cosmoscow is launching the Oberton graphic art fair at the new TON-CENTER exhibition space (3/30 building 1, Komsomolskaya Square), which will take place on December 5–7. A preview for collectors and the art community will be held on December 3rd and 4th. The project is supported by MR, Yandex Pay, The Act, Konstantin Chaykin, Yandex Afisha, and edis.
“Today, graphic art is gaining more and more attention among collectors of all levels, from established professionals to emerging enthusiasts. Its high artistic value is undeniable. It is a sought-after and, to some extent, cutting-edge genre, combining the search for a new visual language with bold experimentation. Many collections are now establishing dedicated sections exclusively representing graphic works. With the Oberton fair, we aim to present a cross-section of the most relevant contemporary graphic art, responding to the ongoing demand from Cosmoscow guests over the past couple of years,” says Margarita Pushkina, Founding Director of Cosmoscow.
The Oberton Fair will be held at the TON-CENTER, a new multifunctional venue housed in a historic building designed by architect Konstantin Ton in the 1840s. It previously housed the circular train depot of the Leningradsky (Nikolaevsky) Railway Station on Komsomolskaya Square. This unique cultural heritage site will combine the genius of 19th-century engineering with contemporary art.
Participation in the fair is by prior invitation from the organizers. Key selection criteria will include the content and quality of the galleries’ projects implemented throughout the year, as well as experience participating in international and Russian contemporary art fairs. The fair’s programming will be curated, guaranteeing its integrity and high quality.
The fair’s construction design embraces a unified concept of a minimalist "white cube" exhibition environment without additional decoration. Each gallery will be provided with a standard 25m2 booth using modular walls.
You can visit the fair on December 5 from 12 pm to 10 pm and on December 6–7 from 10 am to 10 pm at /30 bld. 1, Komsomolskaya Square.
