7th Off white charity auction was held on September 11th as part of Cosmoscow fair

Sept. 12, 2020

The 7th Off white charity auction was held on Friday, September 11th, as part of Cosmoscow 2020 fair in partnership with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Russian Federation, with support of Ruinart champagne house and strategic partner v confession agency. Total revenue amounted to €113.900. The proceeds from sales of most of the lots will be donated to Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art. The work of Ramin Nafikov, a participant of the 2nd Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art, will be donated to the endowment fund of Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, the winner of Museum of the Year Cosmoscow 2020. The hosts of the evening were Olga Shelest and Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich.

2020 is a year of unconventional ways out of any situation, so this time the organizers "re-invented" the format of the traditional evening and invited the guests to take a fresh look at the format of gala dinners, auctions and social interaction. An auction is always a kind of "art speed dating", a dynamic encounter with art, where quick decision making is key.

The curator of the auction was Mohammad Salemi, who selected 23 works of Russian and foreign artists, uniting them with the theme “Fiction and Forecast. New Aesthetics of World Creation”. The authors of the lots are Vika Begalskaya and Alexander Vilkin, Anna Acorn, Zina Isupova, Richard Kennedy, Taisia Korotkova, Kirill Makarov, Takasi Murakami, Ramin Nafikov, Katya Novichkova, Pavel Otdelnov, Pavel Peppershtein, Mika Plutitskaya, Alexander Plyusknin, Alexander Povzner, Lev Povner , Roald Diaz Reyes, Jaanush Samma, Janek Simon, Alexandra Sukhareva, Alexey Taruts, Margo Trushina, Artem Filatov, SLAVS AND TATARS.

The Off white charity auction in ART SPEED DATING concept became an art dinner of a new format, where guests met the art and its connoisseurs in unusual conditions: three times a night the guests found themselves one on one with a new interlocutor, without breaking social distance.

The special guests of the auction who were greeted by the hostess of the evening Margarita Pushkina, the founder and director of Cosmoscow fair and founder of the Cosmoscow Foundation for Support of Contemporary Art, were the Ambassador of Qatar in Russian Federation Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiya, Valeria Rodnyanskaya, Boris Belotserkovsky, Anton and Victoria Borisevich, Inna Bazhenova, Anton Belov, Ksenia Chilingarova, Kristina Krasnyanskaya, Anna Andronova, Lana Grineva, Ksenia Tarakanova, Yulia Chernova, Ilya and Valentina Davydik, Sergey Ryabtsov and others.

Among the favorites of the auction were works by Pavel Otdelnov, Cosmoscow 2020 Artist of the Year, and Ramin Nafikov, a participant in the 2nd Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art.

The evening culminated in the concert of a famous American singer of Russian origin Polina, the winner of Grammy award for a collaborative track "Legacy" with Eminem and other hits that occupied the top lines of the world charts. She presented her new project Contessa - a creative role in which Polina tries on dozens of different characters.
