"Museum of the Year" – Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow

The 'Museum of the Year' project was initiated to create and provide the necessary conditions for Russian contemprorary art sustainable development, as well as regular replenishment of Russian Museums' collections with contemprorary artists. The Foundation determines the Museum which supports by purchase of works of contemporary art annually and than these artworks become part of the Museum's permanent collection.

Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, is the first museum of photography and contemporary art in Russia. This year it celebrates its 25th anniversary. MAMM has founded and holds two major international festivals every spring: 'Moscow Photo Biennale' (since 1996), as well as the biennale 'Fashion and Style in Photography' (since 1999). These biennales and exhibitions of photography at MAMM have turned Moscow into one of the capitals of world photography.

The museum's exhibition projects are constantly replacing each other. MAMM shows the history of foreign and domestic contemporary art, international and Russian photography stars projects, as well as young artists, video art, VR, art related to new technologies, performances and other types and genres of art. In addition to exhibitions, the museum hosts various educational programs for children and adults related to the practice and theory of art. The stars of world art conduct lectures and give master classes at MAMM. On a regular basis, such programs as MAMMcinema, MAMMusic, MAMMdiscussion work in the museum. MAMM is one of the most visited museums not only in Moscow, but all over Russia.
